Manchester City have claimed the top position on the English Premier League points table following their 2-0 win against Fulham today.

Bernado Silva and Sergio Aguero scored the goals for City.

In other matches this morning, Manchester United defeated Watford 2-1, Burnley beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-0 while Everton defeated West Ham 2-0.

Looking at the points table, defending champions City are in first place with 77 points, Liverpool are placed 2nd with 76 points while Tottenham is placed 3rd with 61 points and 25 goals differentials.

Manchester United are placed 4th with 61 points and 19 goals differentials.

Meanwhile Lionel Messi scored twice for Barcelona as they defeated Espanyol 2-0 in a Spanish La Liga match today.

Messi has scored 22 goals in his last 15 La Liga games, while he has also surpassed 40 goals in a season for the 10th successive time.

On the other hand,  Juventus defeated Empoli by 1-0 in an Italian Serie A match.
