As a champion for climate vulnerable people, Fiji is calling on the large, industrialised nations of the world to wake up, correct course, and put our planet on track towards a more sustainable future.
This was highlighted by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama as he gave an update on where Fiji is in the global fight against climate change following a High Level Meeting to protect the global climate for present and future generations at the UN Headquarters in New York.
Bainimarama says Fiji is fighting for people on the frontlines of the rising seas, the stronger cyclones, the worsening floods and the longer droughts caused by our changing climate.
He adds that they are fighting for the future generations who will one day inherit this planet.
