Support for the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team is slowly building in Hong Kong ahead of this weekend’s tournament.

Hundreds of people have been flocking to where the national squad has been training in the last few days.

Captain Paula Dranisinukula says the team knows that it will not be an easy task to march through to the quarter‑finals.

Fiji has won 18 of the 43 tournaments in Hong Kong since 1976, the most number of wins by any team to play in Hong Kong and they are out to create history this weekend as they aim to win 5 straight Hong Kong 7s titles.

No other team has won the Hong Kong 7s title for 5 straight years.

Fiji will take on Kenya at 11.37pm Friday in their first pool match of the Hong Kong 7s, they will then take on Australia at 5.13pm Saturday and play their final pool match against New Zealand at 8.55pm Saturday.

The Cup quarterfinals will start at 2.58pm Sunday, Cup semifinals start at 7.41pm Sunday while the Cup final is at 11pm Sunday.

Barring any upsets Fiji could face France or Argentina in the quarterfinals, South Africa or England in the semifinal and New Zealand or USA in the final.
