Minister for Agriculture Dr. Mahendra Reddy says the review report on the petition of Nadroga Navosa Provincial High School, is no longer relevant as they are just wasting parliamentary time talking about it.

Speaking as the former Minister for Education in parliament Dr Reddy says they had consulted the Nadroga Provincial Council about the school being converted to a Technical College and was supposed to meet with SODELPA MP Viliame Gavoka on the issue but Gavoka never turned up for their meeting.

Gavoka than raised a point of order saying he attended a meeting related to this.

Gavoka says there was lack of consultation and shared a story of how a mother had to find out that she should be looking for another school for her son.

He says government should have run the school as it is and have the technical college side by side.

Gavoka adds Fiji is grateful to the Indo Fijians who came from India with education.

Meanwhile the Minister for Economy and Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says Gavoka speaking about ethnic demarcations and that Indo Fijians came with education to Fiji is totally incorrect.

Sayed-Khaiyum says the reality is that there are other schools that are nearby that students of Nadroga/Navosa can attend and are attending now.
