Fiji Airways Men’s national 7s team coach, Gareth Baber has selected his team that is aiming to win a record fifth title in a row at the Hong Kong 7s.
Baber has selected captain Paula Dranisinukula, Sevuloni Mocenacagi, Josua Vakurinabili Meli Derenalagi, Apenisa Cakaubalavu, Isoa Tabu, Alasio Naduva, Jerry Tuwai, Filimoni Botitu, Aminiasi Tuimaba, Terio Tamani and Livai Ikanikoda.
Asaeli Tuivoka will be on stand by as 13th man.
Baber says they know the challenge that is ahead of them, starting with Kenya adding that it is six finals as always and one game at a time.
Fiji has a tough pool with Australia and New Zealand also in our pool.
The last time Fiji played New Zealand in Hong Kong was last year where Fiji thumped New Zealand 50-7.
Baber says he is confident in the players he has selected.
Meanwhile, New Zealand 7s team co-captain Scott Curry says he is excited to be back and the team is ready for the Hong Kong 7s.
USA 7s team captain Madison Hughes says even though they have played 5 finals they are not taking anything for granted.
Fiji will take on Kenya at 11.37pm today in their first pool match of the Hong Kong 7s, they will then take on Australia at 5.13pm tomorrow and play their final pool match against New Zealand at 8.55pm tomorrow.
The Cup quarterfinals will start at 2.58pm Sunday, Cup semifinals start at 7.41pm Sunday while the Cup final is at 11pm Sunday.
