Savea kept the Hurricanes in the game with two tries before Ngani Laumape scored the winning try in the 66th minute.
After that try, the Hurricanes held on grimly for the last 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, a yellow card on the stroke of half‑time for a high tackle by skipper Siya Kolisi proved costly as the Stormers crashed to a third straight tour defeat to the Reds in Brisbane.
Kolisi's 10 minutes off the field was decisive with the Reds getting two tries in his absence on their way to a 24‑12 win.
The Sharks also thrashed Lions 42-5 this morning.
