Music is food for musicians and to establish a organization that recognizes talent of all genre has not been an easy journey says Laisa Vulakoro.

The Fiji Performing Rights Association music awards committee, represented by Seru Serevi and Laisa Vulakoro received a cheque of five thousand dollars from the Fijian Teachers Association to sponsor for the hall of fame category for FPRA Music Awards.

The Fijian Teachers Association has been sponsoring this event five years in a row and are happy to sponsor this event once again.

FPRA is an organization established in 1992 to bring together people from all age groups to form groups or as an individual to make name in the local music industry. With over 800 members from all over the country currently , FPRA gives recognition to local artists of all ages. The hall of fame category is for one that has been contributing to FPRA throughout the years with their composition of songs.

The Fijian Teachers Association officials while handing over the cheque has promised to work together with the Ministry of Education to make music a subject on its own than to consider it PEMAC as all students are born with special talents and Fiji as a multi-cultural nation is believed to have abundance of talent in the music industry.

The Fiji Performing Rights Association holds a workshop for its members and those who intend to join after every four months to advocate on the local music industry and its artists.
