The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team will face its toughest pool matches in the series so far against Australia and New Zealand in the Hong Kong 7s later today as both teams have already beaten Fiji this season.
Fiji has met Australia three times this season which includes a 26-19 win in the pool stage in the Hamilton 7s and a 22-17 win in the Cup quarters of the Sydney 7s.
But Fiji was beaten 26-15 by Australia in Pool D in the Las Vegas 7s.
Fiji’s record against New Zealand has not been perfect this season as out of the three matches between the two sides, Fiji has only won one match.
In their Sydney 7s semifinal match, New Zealand beat Fiji 36-14 and in their Las Vegas 7s Cup quarterfinal match New Zealand also beat Fiji 19-14.
Fiji edged New Zealand 22-21 in their Cup quarterfinal match in the Vancouver 7s.
Fiji defeated Kenya 22‑5 in their first pool match of the Hong Kong 7s last night.

In other matches, Samoa beat Scotland 17-7, South Africa defeated Japan 22-7, England beat Wales 36-19, USA defeated Spain 36-7 and New Zealand thrashed Australia 40‑19.
Fiji will now take on Australia at 5.13pm today and play their final pool match against New Zealand at 8.55 tonight.
The Cup quarterfinals will start at 2.58pm tomorrow, Cup semifinals start at 7.41pm while the Cup final is at 11pm tomorrow.
