It is just right to get a well known international rugby player like former NZ 7s captain, DJ Forbes to be the chief guest at the Lifeline Fiji Charity Gala Dinner to share his experience as he is also a person that suffered stress and mental health issues.

This was highlighted by Lifeline Fiji Officer in charge, Jeremaia Merekula who says that people would want to be part of a good cause like the Charity Dinner to also witness what Forbes will be sharing on the night.

Merekula says this will help people understand and broaden their knowledge on how stress and other issues affect their lives.

He also highlighted that for the past 2 years, more males have been calling Lifeline Fiji for assistance in terms of counseling for mental health, relationship problems, and suicide-related issues.

Merekula says this is a positive sign for them because they know they have an impact on everyone.

He says they have also assisted more than 8,000 people who call in for various issues.

The Lifeline Fiji Charity Gala Dinner will be held tonight at the Grand Pacific Hotel.

The toll-free Lifeline number is 132454.
