43‑year‑old Roselyne Reshmi Lata Maharaj says that her mother was her inspiration in completing her studies.

Maharaj who graduated with a Post Graduate Certificate in Food Safety from FNU’s College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences says that her favourite holiday activity was spending time and visiting her mother who currently lives in Vanua Levu.

Maharaj believes that her interest in the concept of food safety could be an example to other aspiring students adding that food safety is very important to our daily lives because if people eat healthily then they will stay healthy.

Maharaj who is currently a teacher at Sacred Heart College says pursuing part-time studies while managing her own family was very challenging.

She adds that her 20-year-old son and husband have been very supportive in helping her with the household chores so she could successfully complete her studies.

Maharaj now aims to pursue her Masters qualification in a few years’ time and she hopes to continue advocating for healthier lifestyle among communities.
