A man alleged to have murdered his wife in a village in Ovalau last year has told the court that he now wants to be represented by the Legal Aid Commission.
Tevita Deve is charged with one count of murder.
In March last year, Deve allegedly assaulted his 21 year old wife and murdered her by making her drink paraquat.
The wife was admitted in hospital for a few days before passing away.
Deve has been remanded in custody.
