West Indies produced a blistering bowling display to thrash Pakistan by seven wickets and begin their Cricket World Cup campaign with an emphatic victory.

The two‑time champions bowled Pakistan out for just 105 in 21.4 overs ‑ their second lowest total in World Cup history.

The West Indies bowling performance only strengthens the view that they could be serious contenders to win their first 50‑over World Cup since 1979, while it is a miserable start for Pakistan who won the Champions Trophy in England just two years ago.

With two matches played, West Indies lead the points table with two points with England in second place.

South Africa and Pakistan are placed 9th and 10th respectively having lost their first and only match in the competition so far.

Meanwhile, New Zealand take on Sri Lanka at 9.30 tonight.
