Children of Vunayawa in Sabeto, Nadi will no longer have to study in dim lights after the Minister for Infrastructure Jone Usamate commissioned a rural electrification project for the settlement.
Usamate says they are putting in place a solid foundation of essential services so that ordinary men and women can go about their lives without worrying about finding water, keeping the lights on at night or staying connected with the rest of the nation.
The $93,000 project will benefit the 18 households in the settlement.
He says over the past five years, they have given funding of $224 million towards the energy sector.
