Newly appointed High Commissioner of India to Fiji Padmaja says there is a high demand of Fijian products in India such as mineral water and cosmetics and Fiji is the preferred tourism destination for most newly married couples and young people.
Padmaja revealed this during a meeting with Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism Premila Kumar.
Padmaja has strongly encouraged the exchange of knowledge and expertise between Fiji and India, especially in art and culture.
The High Commissioner reiterated that there is high potential in strengthening the two countries’ trade relations and she would ensure that it does eventuate and taken to another new level.
Other issues discussed included cooperation in various sectors such as agriculture, technical expertise, capacity building, culture and heritage.
