Vinod Patel & Company Pte Limited will be pioneering the Voluntary Compliance Framework after they signed an agreement with the Fiji Consumer and Competition Commission today.

Commission CEO, Joel Abraham says this will promote an efficient partnership within the framework of consumer rights.

Abraham states that this framework marks a beginning of era where they will be moving from a system of stringent command and control type of compliance to a system of voluntary compliance.

Meanwhile Vinod Patel Company Pte Limited CEO, Veeral Patel says today marks a another positive step in the right direction for the company.

Patel says this commitment has involved a significant investment in people, development, expert advise and regular consultations with regulators such as FCCC.

He says this framework formalizes what they have been discussing with FCCC in past years.

The CEO stated through this framework they aim to achieve clarity and transparency often a gap exist in expectation and interpretation of laws between regulators and those who have to comply which often leads to non-compliance and cost that could have been avoided.

Patel says training, information sharing clear lines of communication and compliance audit is expected to bridge the gap which will ensure an effective application of their responsibilities according to the FCCC Act.
