30 participants from the Fiji Police Summary Prosecutions Division are taking part in the ODPP Advanced National Prosecution Course for summary prosecutors.
While launching the course, Assistant DPP Elizabeth Rice says the course is designed to help summary prosecutors understand the current common law positions on sentencing tariffs, rules of evidence and other subjects of fundamental importance as well as to teach trial advocacy skills through case scenarios and moot courts.

Rice encouraged the participants to understand the fundamentals of criminal prosecution and to adhere to the relevant lessons during the six weeks course.
The Advanced National Prosecution Course is a combination of theory and practical work which will run from 1st July to 9th August 2019 and is open to all summary criminal prosecutors.
