Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Mereseini Vuniwaqa stated that she would not accept a world that tells daughters that economic equality can wait for their granddaughter’s granddaughters.

Vuniwaqa highlighted this to key stakeholders at the launch of the Catalyzing Women’s Entrepreneurship Fiji project at the Grand Pacific Hotel last night.

She says the country cannot wait any longer to pull off gender equality and the longer we wait the more we loose on the fight of gender equality.

She says the project is supported by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific with finance provided by the Canadian Government which the Fijian Ministry of Women has engaged Women in Business Fiji as its local partner.

Catalyzing Women’s Entrepreneurship addresses the challenges and constraints faced by women entrepreneurs in Fiji enabling women to build and grow in their businesses, improving access to financial services and capital as well as increasing use of ICT tools and innovative technology.
