An elderly man accused of raping his great granddaughter in a village in Tailevu has applied for bail in the Suva High Court.
The 77-year-old allegedly raped the 25-year-old woman on 8th March this year.
He is charged with two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.
In court today, the man’s Legal Aid lawyer said his client was not related to the complainant but the prosecution said in his caution interview that accused said the complainant is the great grand daughter.
The bail ruling will be delivered by High Court Judge Justice Thushara Rajasinghe on 14th August this year.
