The Assistant Minister for Itaukei Affairs, Selai Adimaitoga told the Ministry’s Head of Departments that they must leave their comfort zones and cocoons, and engage with the outside world, but at the same time preserve all that is iTaukei.
Adimaitoga highlighted this while opening the Ministry’s Annual Planning Workshop.
She says that this workshop is an opportunity to introduce units and talk about expectations, professional interests and how the policies they develop will advise government, on how best they can serve the interests of the iTaukei people.
Adimaitoga says that during their deliberation the HOD’s will reflect on broader developments and trends locally as well as globally that impact on the implementation of the National Development Plan.
She says the sessions are also intended to reflect on fault lines in the society with the view to inform the setting of priorities that the Ministry of iTaukei Affairs will pursue.
