Minister for Education Rosy Akbar believes that the Online Safety Act should come into effect after hearing of a video of two boys having sex that is being circulated online.
Akbar says this video should not have been taken and the Act needs to come into play to protect us all.
She says that this is a very sad case looking at how young the boys were.
When questioned if there is a need to fully implement sex education in Primary Schools, Akbar says this needs stakeholders’ engagement and parents need to be fully engaged.
Meanwhile the Police Cyber Crime Unit is trying to trace the origins of the video.
The video shows the two boys performing sexual acts on each other.
Concerns have been raised by some people that this video has been privately sent around on the messaging platform on social media.
