A former employee of the Department of Town and Country Planning has appeared in the Suva Magistrates Court charged with two counts of obtaining a financial advantage and one count of causing a loss.
Courtney Suka Rakokoti allegedly took $14,723.90 after she received payments from customers for various fees and services and did not deposit it.
She allegedly altered receipt numbers and obtained $560.05.
According to charges filed by FICAC, Rakokoti also allegedly caused a loss of $13,597.10 to the Department of Town and Country Planning by failing to deposit the revenue collected from customers through cheque payments.
Rakokoti has been granted bail by Magistrate Seini Puamau who issued a stop departure order and gave instructions for the accused to surrender all travel documents.
