A former Revenue Collector at the Sigatoka Magistrates Court Registry has been charged with count each of obtaining financial advantage and falsification of documents.

FICAC charged Rauni Moceiovalau and it is alleged that in his capacity as a revenue collector, he filed receipts and obtained $3,100.00 between January and August last year.

He was also alleged to have falsified the duplicate and triplicate copies of the original receipts with the intention to obtain the gain from the Sigatoka Magistrates Court.

FICAC State Counsel Darren Hickes informed the Court that first phase disclosures was served.

Magistrate Jeremia Savou released the Moceiovalau on bail, imposed a travel ban and instructed him to report to the Rakiraki Police Station every fortnight on Saturday.

The matter was adjourned to 30 August 2019, to be called before the Chief Magistrate in Suva.
