The Fiji Corrections Service will be putting up nets along the fences in the Suva Remand Centre from as early as next month to deal with the already occurring situations where people are throwing in contraband items.
Commissioner Francis Kean says they have already put up netting in the Korovou Centre and hope to do the same at the Suva Remand Centre in the next financial year.
The Fiji Corrections Service found contraband items like methamphetamine, sachets of marijuana, more than 50 mobile phones as well as phone chargers at the Suva Remand Centre in the last three weeks.
