A 16‑year‑old boy who allegedly raped a 3-year-old girl in Tavua has been remanded at the Juvenile Centre in the Western Division.
He has been charged with one count of rape .
The incident occurred at a village in Tavua on Tuesday morning.
According to Police, the boy fled the scene and the joint efforts by members of the community and Police resulted in his arrest.
The matter was reported by the girl’s mother.
He will be produced in the Lautoka High Court on the 12th of next month.
