High Court Judge, Justice Thushara Rajasinghe has acquitted the former proposed candidate of the National Federation Party of all charges against him.
He was charged with five counts of rape and two counts of sexual assault.
He allegedly raped his sister-in-law in June last year.
While giving his judgement, Justice Rajasinghe said that he does not find the evidence given by the complainant as reliable and credible.
He says the complainant had alleged that the man slapped her several times and the man had threatened her.
The Judge says when the doctor medically examined the complainant the doctor did not find any injuries on her body.
He says the prosecution also failed to provide evidence of the broken bed.
