A heavy rain warning is in place for the western half of Viti Levu which includes areas from Sigatoka to Rakiraki and it is also in place for Vanua Levu, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands.
A heavy rain alert is in force for the rest of Fiji.
The Nadi Weather Office says a trough of low pressure with associated cloud and showers is expected to approach the country from the west and affect Fiji from tonight.
People can expect rain, heavy at times and a few thunderstorms and there is also a possibility of flooding in low lying areas.
