Public Accounts Committee member, FijiFirst MP, Vijendra Prakash has stressed to the Land Transport Authority senior management that they should train their officers on good customer and public service skills.

While assessing LTA’s 2016/2017 Audit Report, Prakash asked the LTA management if they did training for their officers on good customer and public services skills.

LTA General Manager Finance and Administration, Irimaia Rokosawa, stated that all their on-ground officers have been trained in providing better services to the public.

Rokosawa says it has been the norm for their officers to be trained before they are given a task to perform.

Prakash says this is not shown in some of their officers, who sometimes have an arrogant attitude when conversing with the public.

Meanwhile, Committee member, SODELPA MP, Aseri Radrodro also agreed to the ideas brought forward by Prasad as he sees that LTA has become a money making institution in terms of imposing fines and other charges that is seen as illegal.

Rokosawa says that they will look into the issue of their officers being disrespectful to members of the public. He also says they will take heed of all the ideas being brought forward by the committee.
