841,000 seedlings have been planted on 1,648 hectares of land around the country since the 4 Million Trees in 4 Years Initiative was launched in January this year.
This was highlighted by the Minister of Forests Osea Naiqamu during his tour of Ra this week.
Naiqamu says they are expected to plant a total of 1000 trees during his tour and they have already planted 800 trees in the village of Navuniivi, Nakorovou, Naocobau, Narikoso and Veidrala village.
The Minister urges people living in villages around the country to take part in this initiative to which contributes directly to addressing the fight against climate change.
