Minister for Education Rosy Akbar has urged people to reflect on their lives journey so far and how the festival of Diwali can help them become a better person tomorrow.

Akbar says people should not only bring joy to their own lives but to those around them as well.

She has also urged people to give special thoughts to those who are not celebrating Diwali due to illness or the loss of a loved one.

Akbar says she hopes this Diwali is celebrated in true Fijian spirit and may the people always be united in our diversity.

She says Fiji is a very unique country where we have diversity in cultures and that is what should unite all of us.

Akbar also thanked the teachers for their contributions who continuously work towards educating our children so that they grow up and contribute positively to the nation as a whole.
