Twenty women are embarking on a new phase in their lives from today as they have enrolled in a free Basic Caregiving course at the Makoi Women’s Vocational Training Centre.
Centre manager Shaista Khan says this course is designed to help those women who are widows, divorcees, single mothers or who have received little education.
Khan says through these courses, the Centre helps the underprivileged women find employment and a means to financially support themselves.
She says this is the first time the Centre is providing this course and the ladies enrolled are as young as 18 years.
The course will be for the next three weeks.
The Makoi Women’s Vocational Training Centre has graduated 905 women since it started in early 2016.
