Police have confirmed an internal investigation will be carried to try and establish how remand prisoner Waisea Sasalu of Nabua escaped from the Suva Magistrates Court this morning.

Sasalu is still on the run and checkpoints have been erected by Police to help catch him.

He was awaiting his court appearance for an Aggravated robbery case.
