The royal family has marked the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh's 72nd wedding anniversary with an array of black and white throwback pictures on social media.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shared a sweet tribute to the royal couple on their Sussex Royal Instagram page, wishing them 'many congratulations', while Prince William and Kate Middleton also posted throwback photos earlier in the day. 

However, duty called for the Queen who had her usual busy schedule of engagements today at Buckingham Palace, while Prince Philip remained at Sandringham, more than 110 miles from London.
