Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources, Ashneel Sudhakar says SODELPA MP, Niko Nawaikula is a threat to national security because he posted about the UN Human Rights Council meeting in Geneva on his facebook page and deliberately edited a photograph to show pictures of non-iTaukei members of the delegation.
However, Nawaikula says his Facebook post was about the delegation going to Geneva and not telling the Human Rights Council about what he claims are state-driven abuse of the rights of the indigenous people.
While speaking in parliament, Sudhakar says Nawaikula edited the photo although the entire delegation had people of all ethnic backgrounds.
Sudhakar says the opposition is calling on the Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama to resign when they have no confidence in their own motion of no confidence.
He says the opposition files a motion one day and withdraws it the other day to save them embarrassment.
Sudhakar says how can a nation be built when SODELPA MP, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu calls certain people of Fiji “vulagi”.
He says how can Fijians respect each other when National Federation Party MP, Lenora Qereqeretabua curses the government and their descendants.
He adds that his children were cursed before they are even born.
Sudhakar says how can Fiji talk about reducing the crime rate and violence when SODELPA MP, Mosese Bulitavu is justifying violence by saying iTaukei man is bigger and can beat up their partners but the Indo-Fijian men take their knife out.
He says how can violence be stopped in Fiji when the opposition members are provoking violence.
Meanwhile, Niko Nawaikula rose on a point of order and said there is a misinterpretation of facts by Sudhakar.
