Glasgow Warriors coach Dave Rennie says reports that Flying Fijians lock Leone Nakarawa was on his way back to the club are not true but has admitted they were talking to Nakarawa.

Nakarawa is a free agent having been sacked by Racing 92 after he returned to the club 16 days late following the Rugby World Cup.

Reports from France
have suggested that Nakarawa was to re-sign for the Glasgow Warriors.

But the club’s Coach Dave Rennie told The Scotsman – Scotland’s national newspaper that he had a conversation with Nakarawa but there is nothing to confirm yet.

Nakarawa signed his first professional contract when joining the Glasgow Warriors in 2013 and helped the club win the Pro 12 title in 2015. He left in 2016 to join Racing 92 in France.

Glasgow Warriors compete in the Guinness PRO14 and Heineken Champions Cup and play their matches at Scotstoun Stadium in Glasgow.

The Guinness PRO14 includes teams from Wales, Ireland, Italy, South Africa and Scotland, while the Heineken Champions Cup is Europe’s premier rugby competition and features the best sides from the Guinness PRO14, Gallagher Premiership and Top14.
