Opposition and SODELPA Leader, Sitiveni Rabuka says Christmas is a time of reflection and people should reflect on close family or friends whom they have lost in the past year.
In his Christmas message Rabuka says people must also review their successes, triumphs and achievements in the year and people should consider how they can be a blessing individual and collectively be a blessing to people who are facing hardships this Christmas.
Rabuka says people should take some time to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas, particularly Christians who will be celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ who is the ultimate gift and blessing of the festive season.
He says the reputation we have as a friendly and generous people is the strength of Fijians and the diversity which has been tested in the current political environment must not dampen the spirit.
He further says people must stand united and focus on the national interest of the people for their future generation, rather than focusing on individuals interest.
Rabuka adds people should reflect on the values of love, service and compassion and he believes through this, light will continue to shine and overshadow darkness.
He says people must embrace each other through the power of charity and forgiveness and celebrate common values that people share as citizen of Fiji.
The Opposition Leader hopes that this Christmas will bring joy and peace to everyone and may the spirit of Christmas inspire people to build a better future for Fiji.
