A 52-year-old man has been remanded in custody for allegedly murdering his wife in Kinoya.

Peni Fatai appeared before Nasinu Magistrate Charles Ratakele this morning.

Magistrate Ratakele has transferred the matter to Suva High Court  which will be called on the 24th of this month.

Fatai who is charged with a count of murder told the court that he will be seeking legal aid assistance.

Police say the alleged incident happened last Sunday after a heated argument.
