The Minister for Education, Rosy Akbar says despite the Education Ministry having only 70 vacancies available in schools, it has approved 424 transfer applications of teachers this year.
Akbar says priority has been placed on high need teachers and the ministry is focused on reuniting families wherever possible.
She says all transfer updates of teachers will be issued and posted to the Fijian Education Management Information by tomorrow.
Akbar says the remaining transfer requests by teachers will remain in the pool of applicants for consideration for future terms.
She says those teachers who have not had a transfer confirmed this year are asked to report to the same school until such time as a transfer is possible.
