Defending champions, the Ba soccer team has defeated Rewa 1-0 in their first match of the 2020 Vodafone Premier League season at Ratu Cakobau Park.
The winning goal was scored by Malakai Tiwa.
Tiwa was returning to team after missing the Champion vs Champion Series.
In other matches played today, Lautoka thrashed Nasinu 6-0 at Churchill Park.
Dave Radrigai and Vanuatu import Alex Saniel scored two goals each while Shazil Ali and Samuela Gavo scored one goal each.
Nadi has also beaten Navua 2-1 at the Uprising Ground in Pacific Harbour.
Rusiate Matererega scored twice for Nadi while Navua’s goal was scored by Taniela Rakariva.
The Lautoka soccer team now leads the points table with 3 points.
Suva, Ba and Nadi also have three points.
