A Rewa soccer U19 Youth player is in police custody for allegedly assaulting a match official during the Vodafone U19 Youth League final play-offs at Fiji FA Academy Ground in Vatuwaqa.
Fiji Football says they would await the match report and would decide on the next action.
Fiji FA say the report from the match officials will be sent to the Fiji FA Board and Disciplinary committee who will then decide what action is to be taken.
They say under FIFA laws, any player assaulting match officials is usually slapped with a severe ban.
The final match of the play-off was abandoned after the incident as Ba was leading the match with two goals.
