Interim Finance and Sugar Minister Mahendra Chaudhry is yet to decide whether he will contest the 2009 elections.
Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama had earlier highlighted that those people who are part of the interim cabinet and want to contest the next elections, have to resign months before the next polls.
When questioned Chaudhry told Village News that he is yet to make up his mind on whether he will contest the elections.
Meanwhile, ousted Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase said it is important that only the constitutional requirements are followed for the next elections.
Qarase said nothing else should be included as the constitution is the supreme law of the land and anyone who fits that criteria should be allowed to contest.
