Police are investigating the death of a 26 year old New Zealand woman who was on her honeymoon in Fiji with her 27 year old husband.
Assistant Police PRO Corporal Josaia Weicavu said the couple got married a week earlier before arriving in Fiji last Thursday.
According to Corporal Weicavu, the couple went snorkeling on Friday morning in the Matamanoa Waters when a 20 foot aluminum boat's propeller hit her head.
The boat was operated by a 27 year old casual labourer of the hotel. He took the woman and her husband back to the hotel from where she was airlifted to Lautoka Hospital. However, she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Her post mortem report shows that she died of severe head injuries. Arrangements are underway to take the body back to New Zealand.
