Telecom giants, Amalgamated Telecom Holdings Limited is venturing out to provide a new service and is investing $2.5 million to set up a call center business in Suva.
After carrying out a scoping study, ATH has signed a memorandum of understanding with India based Intouch Solutions to set up the call center through its new subsidiary company ATH Call Center Limited.
ATH Chief Executive Tomasi Vakatora said they believe it is the right time to build on the Groups strength and venture into the new business.
Once into its latter stages of development, the call center is expected to create hundreds of jobs for locals.
Detailed planning for the launching of stage one of the project within the next four months is now underway.
