Those were the parting words of Former Fiji Times reporter Matt Wilson to his long time colleague and friend Stan Arnold Whippy Ritova, as hundreds of people gathered at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church to pay their last respects to a man they affectionately called "Buddy".
Wilson said Stan Ritova was a dedicated journalist who early on in his career showed dedication and strived to always deliver the very best in everything he did.
Eldest daughter Ellen Whippy-Knight said even at the age of 74, his father still missed being a journalist, but most of all he loved people.
Stan Ritova died in Australia last week and was laid to rest at the Suva Cemetery in the last hour.
He is survived by his wife Senimelia, eight children, 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
