Save the Children Fiji is concerned at the number of false applications they are receiving for assistance for the new school year that begins on Tuesday next week.
CEO Chandra Shekher said when analyzing the applications they realised that applications have been received from those who can financially support their children.
CEO, Chandra Shekar stressed that the assistance provided is mainly for those children whose parents do not have a permanent employment and cannot afford to send their children to school.
Shekar clarifies that Save the Children Fiji will only support the children in providing them with stationery, based on the schools book list while textbooks and bus-fare is provided by the Government.
Save the Children Fiji has assisted more than 500 children and is looking at assisting 500 more.
