Cory Jane has been bracketed in the starting team for the Hurricanes’ crucial game against the Brumbies on Saturday night because his wife is expecting a baby.
Hurricanes coach Mark Hammett has also made changes to his inside backs, with Aaron Cruden coming in for Daniel Kirkpatrick and Tyson Keats replacing Chris Eaton.
With the Hurricanes losing their last three games and the Crusaders, Blues and Highlanders fighting it out at the top of the New Zealand conference, time is running out for the Hurricanes to finally hit their straps this season.
Up against a Brumbies side that is having its own problems, the Hurricanes really should be looking to put away the Tony Rea coached team before heading to South Africa to play the Cheetahs and Sharks.
The Hurricanes meet the Brumbies at 9:40pm Saturday.
Tomorrow night at 7:35pm, the Highlanders host the Cheetahs in Dunedin.
