The Prisons Department is now increasing its presence in various cemeteries around the country to clamp down on people digging up graves and stealing from the dead.
Spokesperson, Josefa Matau said they are liaising with Police on patrolling and arresting those who use cemeteries as a drinking spot.
He added that plans are now in place to fence the Vaturekuka Cemetery in Labasa where a grave was dug up by some unknown people a fortnight ago.
No arrests have been made.
