More strict measures are now being taken by the Fiji Police Force following an incident earlier this week where a remand prisoner used a razor blade to hurt himself in court.
Spokesperson Theresa Ralogaivau said that the prisoner, Josaia Koroinavosa on Tuesday, was on trial in the High Court for a case of Aggravated Robbery when he attempted to hurt himself.
She said that they are also looking at screening of people who come to the cell. Koroinavosa remains admitted at CWM Hospital in a stable condition.
