“Fiji must ensure that the environment is kept clean all the times.”

This is the collective action from 20 prison officers who are currently cleaning up the surroundings like picking up rubbish and debris and unwanted waste materials from Walu Bay to the Suva Prison compound.

Clean up campaign spokesperson Semesa Madigi confirmed that the campaign is led by Prisons principal officer operation, Tuapati Kacivi.

Madigi said the Ministry of Environment donated sacks and gloves to the officers.

This is the second cleaning up campaign this year from the Prisons Department.
