The Consumer Council of Fiji has received 1,911 complaints in the first ten months of this year.
Chief executive Premila Kumar said that they have managed to solve 1,202 cases worth close to $2 million through mediation.
Kumar said that complaints on landlord and tenancy issues continue to lead the complaints table for more than three years and this year a total of 228 complaints were lodged followed by complaints on faulty electronic products which stood at 164 and the Fiji Electricity Authority’s security deposit complaints which stood at 154.
Other complaints include faulty mobile products, water service, banks, other financial institutions, hire purchase, lay buys, spare parts and jewelry.
