The National Fire Authority is once again reiterating to members of the public to ensure that all electric appliances are turned off after use.

This is after a double story flat was destroyed by a fire that left seven families homeless at Kalabu Housing, Nasinu.

Fire investigations indicated that the probable cause of the fire was electrical related and they manage to stop the fire from spreading to nearby flats.

Acting Chief Fire Officer Qio Moceitai is calling on the people to always do a last round of checks before leaving home, to ensure that all fire ignition sources such as gas cylinders, kerosene stoves, coils, prayer diyas or electrical appliances are extinguished or turned off.
